What is Equitable Distribution of Property?

Equitable distribution is not equal, but rather fair distribution of marital property–property that was obtained during the marriage. The courts require documentation of the marital property, and will fairly distribute the marital property. Some items are not considered marital property; please consult your lawyer about what is considered marital property.
